Homecoming weekend
It was a nice but busy weekend. The kids get out early for the parade and everybody in town comes. My cheering squad joined with their flag football team on a float. Here's five of "The Magnificent Seven". And one of Sierra throwing candy. (Courtesy of Papa Wilkins)

We went through about 10 pounds of candy before we even got halfway through the parade :) At least the girls did.....The boys were quite stingy and had candy left over.
Please Sir, can I have some more???????

LJ got inundated with candy! He was at the beginning of the parade and got two huge bucketfuls. Les said the "Chick Magnet" was back in action, too. A little girl on one of the floats spied LJ and started digging in her bag to give him something extra special-mardi gras beads. Sierra is now the proud owner of said Mardi Gras beads.
The football team lost by 6 points-their only loss so far. The dance went on as scheduled since we didn't get squat from Ike. Emily went with her friends and had a good time. She was also aghast at her "big" hair. "It's so......poofy!" Didn't you get the memo Emily???? Everything's bigger in Texas :) If she snags a date for prom, I think I'm off hair detail.

LJ had one of his soccer games and had an assist. The second game was cancelled due to the rain. Sierra cheered her first game....in the rain. Since the two ran concurrently, there are no pix of Sierra in action. Next Saturday looks to be more promising since there are no soccer games.
