Time for catch up
Well, we've been pretty busy here of late. Not enough hours in the day. Here's an example of how our days are spent---Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009.
6:30-Greet the day
Ready van for 57 cases of Girl Scout cookies
7:30-go pick up GS Cookies
8:15-unload GS cookies & divide them up
9:15- feed kids
9:30- bathe (Unfortunately, this step may not actually happen on any given day)
10:00- eat & load GS cookies for one daisy
10:15- dress the child who doesn't care to attend his soccer game (same as washing a cat)
10:30- leave for 11:00 soccer game
11:00- coax 4 five year old boys on the field to play in 40 degree weather w/ 25 MPH winds (Mine is still in the car.)
11:05- A happy boy child appears and is ready to take over for a teammate who may never play another game of soccer in his life. He & two other players essentially play the rest of the game.
11:20- explain to the team goon why he can't take down the other team's players.
11:40- Distribute 1st set of cookies
11:55- stop @ grocery store to purchase requisite tomato soup (But mom....you just can't have grilled cheese w/o tomato soup)
12:15-begin lunch and ready cookie delivery for two more Daisies. Eat & get child # 2 ready for 2:00 basketball game. Wrap gift for 4:00 birthday party.
1:35-leave 15 minutes late for b-ball game
1:59-shove child # 2 onto b-ball court so she can be one of 4 players who get to play the whole game......for the third time this season. Yes, there are supposed to be 5 players on the court. They actually win 20-2, short one man while the other team had 4 more players.
2:20-Marvel at how aggressive child #2 has become on the court. Stealing the ball and drawing a foul.
2:45-Distribute cookies to the two daisies on Sierra's b-ball team.
3:00- take child # 1 to Walmart for gift card & flashlight so she can attend her party while spouse takes the other two kids to guitar center to kill time before their 4:00 bday party.
3:30-drop child #1 off at party & head home to meet two more Daisies.
4:00-pull in driveway
4:20-hand out cookies to one daisy.......daisy #2 never shows up
4:40-receive phone call from spouse "We just got here to the party" Um....the one that started @ 4????????
4:45-end call with spouse and giggle to self about how lucky I am to be home cleaning & not at the over capacity Chuck E Cheese w/ a gazillion screaming kids.
5:00-Enjoy lentil Joes for supper while spouse eats crappy pizza @ CEC's.
5PM on-----continue picking up while watching FOX News & yelling at the kool-aid drinkers who actually think this pork package is going to help the economy.
7:58-Listen to Sierra sing "God Bless the USA" with Lee Greenwood, who was a guest on Mike Huckabee's show. "I really love that song. It's one of my favorites!" She exclaims. Mine too :)
8-9----read through magazines so I can donate them to the school on Monday
9-11----watch Stargate w/ spouse
11:00-----turn in & think of all the stuff that has to be done tomorrow.
